  ADRA China has a start up fund of $15, 000 USD to assist the victim in the flood which has been affected the central and southern China since early June. The flood affected 10 provinces, causing at least 377 deaths, 2.3 million forced to evacuated, 42.12 billion RMB direct economic lost and 763,000 houses damaged or collapsed.
ADRA China has sent the local volunteers who have been trained in our disaster preparedness workshop to Fuzhou, Jiagxi Province, for our initial need assessment. ADRA China is also in contact with the Fuzhou government official to discuss our intervention in collaboration with the local government as well as communicated with other NGOs to coordinate the response.
The objective of ADRA China's intervention will be providing immediate relief to the survivors through the distribution of supplemental food rations which can assist 290 families (approximately 5 persons per family) for 2 weeks. ADRA China is also discussing with the ADRA Network to seek possibility of a proposal worths $50,000 USD, in order to assist 970 families (about 4850 survivors) by supplying food items that could last for a month.
