Spirits ran high in Kunshan when over 300 runners burst from the starting line in the second season of Run4Hope.

This charity run, organised by Kunshan American School for the Zaduo WalitanWelfare School in the Zaduo Tibetan Autonomous County, Qinghai, raised more than 30,000 RMB. In the previous year, a total of 17,820 RMB was raised. All the money raised will be given to ADRA China to purchase all the needed items in Walitan Welfare School.

“What made me want to join Run4hope is the purpose it stands for,” Mr Chris Van Ham, champion of the 10-kilometre run. “Run4hope is designed for helping young people in need in the country of China,” said the teacher of Kunshan American School.

The fund raised by Run4Hope this year will be used to purchase solar heaters, sport equipment, books and other donated goods for orphans in Zaduo Walitan Welfare School. ADRA China is also planning to build a library with the book collection that the Kunshan American School has donated. ADRA China staff will bring the donated items to the Walitan Welfare School this August.
